Attorney since 1992
Scot Conway didn't originally plan to go to law school. He was studying criminal justice administration and sociology, and he was on his way to graduate school. But his dying father wanted an attorney in the family, and he asked his son to go to law school. Gary Conway died in the middle of Scot's first year, and Scot graduated and became an attorney in 1992. Right from the start, Scot found himself dealing with wills, trusts, estates, divorces, child custody, and business law.
Much More than The Law
It might seem that when it comes to things like "estate planning" what's important is the law. Yes, that's ONE important thing... but when people came to Scot for help, it was almost never a problem with the documents. The problems that could not be solved (because only the deceased could have done anything about it) were almost always very human issues. Conway's experience as a Pastor, a counselor, and (perhaps oddly) a martial arts grandmaster are as important to this process as is him being a lawyer!
An online search will find him all over the place, including on Facebook where he's known for long, philosophical posts. The joke is that they're as long as book chapters... and while it's a joke... it's also literally true. Some of his books have started with first drafts posted on Facebook!

Much of the existence of this whole business started with Scot's mother. Her own coaching started with her friends and neighbors - helping them get ready for the lawyer. When her husband died, she leaned heavily on her two sons, Scot, the lawyer, and her son Michael, the CPA. It really struck all of us that had she not had a free lawyer and a free accountant, that would have been a mess. Now she's on the team helping us make sure this doesn't happen to others.
